About the Civic Defense Project

The Civic Defense Project is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization dedicated to strengthening our democracy through civic engagement and voter empowerment. We are nonpartisan and operate independently, focusing on voter registration, voter protections, civic education, and building tools that connect citizens to their elected representatives.

Our work is guided by a commitment to democracy, equal representation, and the principle that informed, engaged citizens are the foundation of a healthy republic. We welcome participation from all Americans regardless of political affiliation.

Use of Our Website

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe upon the rights of others or restrict their use and enjoyment. Prohibited behavior includes: harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content, disrupting the normal flow of dialogue within our community, and intentionally misrepresenting your affiliation with the Civic Defense Project.

You may not use our website to promote partisan political campaigns, candidates, or parties, nor may you represent yourself as an official representative or member of the Civic Defense Project without authorization. Platform50 Civic Engagement App

The Civic Defense Project is developing Platform50, an upcoming civic engagement application designed to connect citizens directly with their elected representatives at local, state, and federal levels. Platform50 will be subject to its own separate terms of service upon launch, which will govern your use of the app and your interactions with the service.

By using the Civic Defense Project website, you acknowledge that Platform50 is under development and may be modified or updated prior to public release. We will notify users of any changes to Platform50's terms when the service becomes available. Early access participants will be required to review and accept the app-specific terms before using the service.

Volunteer Participation

We welcome volunteers who share our commitment to civic engagement and democracy. Volunteers are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respectful conduct. This includes representing the Civic Defense Project accurately and acting in accordance with our nonpartisan mission at all times.

All volunteers agree to conduct themselves in a manner that maintains our nonpartisan character. You may not use your volunteer position to advance partisan political causes, endorse specific candidates or parties, or misrepresent the Project's mission or positions. Any volunteer found to be violating these standards may be asked to step down from their position.

Volunteers who provide personal information through our volunteer signup forms consent to receiving communications about volunteer opportunities, training, and project updates. Detailed volunteer agreements and codes of conduct will be provided separately to all accepted volunteers.
